he cosmopolitan center of the Atlantic coast is a must-see, not only for it's world-famous wine-growing region, but also its buzzing cultural scene, gastronomy, art and architectural marvels including: the Gothic Cathédrale Saint-André, 18th- to 19th-century mansions and notable art museums, such as the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux. While the Basque Country is a destination that rewards curiosity. From the elegance of its coastline to the traditions preserved inland, it offers a rare combination of authenticity and sophistication. For travellers who value both culture and nature, it is a region that lingers long after the journey ends.

With wine galore and access to some of the most prestigious properties, we can organize an exceptional meal in a private cellar in town with (and we really mean this!) practically any wine you can imagine. If you have dreamed of tasting it, then there is a good chance we will be able to make that dream come true…at a cost of course. During the “la vendange” we can offer a harvester experience where you can pick your own grapes and we will send your very own bottle as soon as it is ready (count over a year!).

The town of St Émilion is also particularly charming with lots of interesting new openings and offerings. We offer historical tours taking you to parts of this charming town closed to the general public. We also have cooking classes in chateau kitchens, bike tours in the vines, hot air ballooning… and the list goes on! A trip to the Bordeaux region can be one that appeals to all tastes with something for everyone, and since at French Promise, we only create completely personalized itineraries, we can design one that fits your exact tastes and style.

From Bordeaux, explore the lesser known French Basque regions along the sublime Atlantic coast including: the charming heart of Basque country Bayonne, St Jean de Luz and the chic resort town of Biarritz. There are also a number of fine chateaux in this region, so you may experience a variety of domaines.

Or maybe you are seeking a luxury surf escape along the coast? We will help you discover all of the hidden cultural gems and insider’s spots in the French Basque region like a local.

"Our goal was to explore several wine regions and indulge in great food—and we certainly achieved that. The team listened closely to our wishes and crafted a three-week itinerary that began in Paris, then took us to the Loire Valley, Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion, Provence, and Burgundy. We loved being able to stroll through charming villages, and the boutique hotels were perfectly located for us to interact with locals and enjoy the markets. To satisfy our culinary desires, the trip included a wonderful mix of Michelin-starred dining and cozy local bistros. One highlight was Le Cinq—an extraordinary dining experience in Paris. At Resources in Bordeaux, we were thrilled as the chef presented his innovative creations of his choosing, showcasing the freshest local ingredients. A few standout moments included a cooking class where we shopped at a local market for fresh provisions, and our WOW Moment in the home of a talented pastry chef."
