Booking Terms & Conditions

FRENCH PROMISE® – TERMS & CONDITIONS

(Governing all bookings, tours, transport, villas, events and bespoke travel services)

French Promise® is the commercial and brand name of Kairos Travel, a French company registered in France.

These Terms & Conditions form a legally binding agreement between Kairos Travel / French Promise® (“French Promise”, “we”, “us”) and the Client (the person making the booking and all persons travelling under that booking).

Payment of any deposit or invoice constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

 

1. BOOKINGS, DEPOSITS & PAYMENT

All bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed only upon receipt of payment.

Standard Bookings

  • A 30% deposit is required to confirm any tour or service.
  • The balance is due no later than 30 days prior to the start of services.

Wellness Retreats

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.
  • The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 30 days prior to the start date of the retreat.
  • Failure to complete the final payment by this deadline may result in cancellation of the reservation, with the deposit retained.

Villa Bookings

  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm any villa.
  • The balance is due no later than 60 days prior to arrival unless otherwise stated.

Events, Grand Prix, Festivals & Special Events

Full payment is required at the time of booking for:

  • Monaco Grand Prix
  • Cannes Film Festival
  • Paris Fashion Week
  • International sporting events
  • Major festivals
  • Event-specific accommodation, ticketing or services

These payments are non-refundable once made.

VIP Wine Tours & Tastings

All VIP wine tours, tastings and private winery bookings are 100% non-refundable once booked.

 

2. LAST-MINUTE BOOKINGS

Any booking made within 21 days of service commencement is deemed a Last-Minute Request.

  • A 50% non-refundable payment is due immediately upon acceptance of the quotation.
  • The remaining balance is due once services are confirmed.

If any quoted service becomes unavailable, the corresponding amount will be refunded.

 

3. TICKETS & ENTRANCE FEES

All tickets (museums, events, attractions, shows, experiences, etc.) are:

  • 100% prepaid
  • Non-cancellable
  • Non-changeable
  • Non-refundable

Tickets are not confirmed until fully paid. If payment is late and availability is lost, the payment will be refunded.

Ticket payments are separate from tour deposits and do not count toward the 30% tour deposit.

 

4. CANCELLATION – GENERAL SERVICES

Cancellation fees apply to the total booking value, not just the deposit.

5. VILLA CANCELLATIONS

If the villa is successfully re-booked for the same dates, a refund may be issued minus €750 administration fee.

 

6. HELICOPTER TRANSFERS

Flights cancelled by the pilot due to weather are fully refunded.

 

7. HOTEL BARGE CRUISES

All Hotel Barge cancellation terms as stated in your booking confirmation apply and may differ by vessel.

In all cases, no refund is issued after embarkation or for unused portions.

 

8. NO-SHOWS & UNUSED SERVICES

No refunds are provided for:

  • Failure to join a trip
  • Early departure
  • Missed services
  • Unused accommodation, transport, tours or meals

 

9. FORCE MAJEURE

French Promise is not liable for delays, changes, cancellations or non-performance caused by events beyond its control including but not limited to:
pandemics, government restrictions, border closures, strikes, weather, war, supplier failure or natural disasters.

Refunds in such cases are limited to amounts actually recovered from suppliers minus handling fees.

 

10. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY & CONDUCT

The Client is financially responsible for:

  • The conduct of all travelers in their party
  • Any damage, loss, fines, legal costs or claims caused by them

French Promise may recover such amounts from the Client.

 

11. TRAVEL INSURANCE – MANDATORY

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all travelers.

This must include medical, cancellation, liability and baggage coverage.

Lack of insurance does not entitle the Client to any refund.

Wellness Retreats

Participants are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance specifically covering retreat activities, cancellation, medical expenses, and personal liability.

 

12. WELLNESS RETREAT HEALTH & LIABILITY

By confirming their booking, retreat participants acknowledge that they are in suitable physical and mental condition to take part in all retreat activities. Any medical conditions, injuries, or dietary restrictions must be disclosed in advance.

Participation in all activities is voluntary and at the participant’s own risk. French Promise shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, loss, or damage occurring during the retreat, except where required by applicable law.

 

13. PRICING & EXCHANGE RATES

All prices are in euros.
Prices may change due to:

  • Exchange rates
  • Fuel surcharges
  • Supplier increases
  • Taxes

Only the final invoice price is binding.

 

14. ITINERARY CHANGES

French Promise may adjust itineraries, accommodations or services if necessary for operational or safety reasons.

 

15. DATA PROTECTION (GDPR)

Clients consent to the collection and processing of personal data required to provide services, including transmission to suppliers, in compliance with EU GDPR regulations.

 

16. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

French Promise’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the services giving rise to the claim.

 

17. CHARGEBACKS

Clients agree not to initiate chargebacks for valid charges under these Terms.
Improper chargebacks may result in recovery of costs, fees and legal expenses.

 

18. GOVERNING LAW & ARBITRATION

These Terms are governed by French law.

Any dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration in France, conducted in English or French at French Promise’s election.
Judgments may be enforced internationally.

 

19. FINAL AUTHORITY

French Promise reserves the right to refuse or remove any client at any time for safety, conduct or operational reasons.
